Dominic Cooper remembers late Preacher co-creator Steve Dillon: “I hope he was proud of our series”

Preacher first sprung from the minds of writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon as a comic book, before being adapted as an electrifying TV series.

Dillon passed away last year after serving as executive producer on the first season of the adaptation, with the first episode of season two being dedicated to his memory.

Remembering his time spent with the renowned artist – who also worked on Hellblazer – Preacher star Dominic Cooper told Digital Spy: “There’s a very special moment that I remember, at the end of last year.

Dominic Cooper says Preacher season 2 ends on a game-changing twist: “It’s such a shock”

Preacher closed its first season with a finale that was quite literally explosive… wiping the city of Annville from the face of the Earth.

With the show’s first year serving as a prequel to the original comic, season two has delved deeper into the source material, with Jesse (Dominic Cooper) on the road, looking for God.

“It was a very odd sensation for that original set-up to be literally blown apart, to pieces,” Cooper told Digital Spy. “Suddenly we were immersed in the comic, whereas we’d created an environment and a world in season one that established, for an audience that didn’t know the comics, what Preacher was, and who we were.

Dominic Cooper insists Mamma Mia 2 isn’t just a cash-in

Dominic Cooper has insisted that Mamma Mia 2 isn’t just a cash-in sequel.

The follow-up will see Cooper reunite with his ex-girlfriend Amanda Seyfried after the pair met on the set of the first movie, in which they played soon-to-be-married couple Sky and Sophie.

Mamma Mia! ended with Sophie deciding not to marry Sky, and instead travel the world together – so we don’t know what their relationship will be in the sequel, but Cooper has told Digital Spy that it’s worth the wait.

Dominic Cooper will be singing a whole lot more in Mamma Mia 2

Dominic Cooper has teased what we can expect from the sequel to Mamma Mia, saying how he’s going to be singing a whole lot more.

The 39-year-old may currently be known for playing Jesse Custer in AMC’s Preacher, but he’s set to step away from the violence and reprise his role of Sky in Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.
Speaking to about returning for a sequel to the 2008 musical, Cooper revealed how he’s excited to reunite with the cast, less so with his vocal pipes.
